The Helping Hand was founded in 1987 as a Christian half-way house for the rehabilitation of ex-drug addicts, by Mr Robert Yeo, himself an ex-addict.
As of 2006, we have opened our doors to all ex-offenders. The Helping Hand is a Volunteer Welfare Organization (VWO) under the Ministry of Community, Youth, and Sports (MCYS) with Institution of Public Character (IPC) status.
Our Mission
We seek to transform lives’ of ex-offenders through the love of Jesus Christ into restored and hardworking individuals, re-integrating them back into society as stable and contributing citizens, and finding a community to be part of in a local church.
Rehabilitation Programs
Our in-house rehabilitation programs last from 3-6 months, and are geared to help each individual not only regain self-confidence and self-esteem, but also go back to a regular daily schedule while practicing self discipline and good work habits. The Helping Hand also offers 3/4 housing for ex-offenders at $200 per month Walk-ins are welcomed and will be considered for programs.
