MINDS Food was started in 2004 by a group of parent volunteers from the MINDS Caregivers Support Group, who wanted to explore the possibility of training our clients to pick up basic kitchen skills. From a humble setup of just a handful of parents and clients, MINDS Food has grown into a well-equipped F&B social enterprise that serves nutritious, great tasting lunch to our EDC clients and staff. The MINDS Food unit at SIA-MINDS EDC also runs a small catering service that provides packed lunchboxes to other charities in the vicinity.
On the training aspect, our clients are taught to perform basic food preparation, area cleaning and packing based on modified techniques designed by our training officers. Till date we have close to 50 clients across the 3 EDCs working in MINDS Food.
In 2012, we extended our product offering to sell delicious, lovingly handmade baked treats under the brand name of MINDS Bakers. Our cookies, tarts, biscuits and muffins are based on healthier recipes using less sugar and sans-preservatives. MINDS Bakers offers a wide variety of packaging and customised solutions for weddings, birthday parties and corporate events.
