Habitat for Humanity Singapore was founded in 2004 with only one full-time staff. By end 2014, HFH Singapore is fully staffed with a full-time National Director and a team of 12 persons.
Since its inception, HFH Singapore has mobilised hundreds of teams of volunteers for building projects and disaster response to countries such as China, India, Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, the Philippines and Thailand.
Within Singapore, Habitat runs Project HomeWorks, where we clean up the houses of the elderly poor, and help provide adequate household furnishings for families in need. With the help of our volunteers, we have cleaned a total of 1,500 units* since 2006.
Habitat also runs the StarBuilders programme, which empowers disadvantaged and marginalised young people to give back by enabling them to participate in Habitat activities through sponsorship.
