AfterCare Programme – Beyond the initial 12 months
Though ex-offenders have paid their debts to society, many have lost important years of life during which they would have been educated and trained to certifiable levels of knowledge and skill. With weak education, limited working abilities and poor coping skills, while facing the dangers of being drawn by ‘old friends’ back into their former habits of vice or crime, the best form of recovery and quality of life can be found in a healthy family life through reconciliation or marriage.
Some residents, especially those whose first few months have been focused on recovery from addictions, are not ready to move out after 12 months and may require an extended period of stay to reinforce their development and re-alignment by repeating some of the previous programmes as well as entering a more personalized and intensive phase of mentoring, coaching and spiritual enhancement.
HighPoint will provide a safe place for residents and ex-residents to continue to rebuild trust and restore relationships especially with family members.
